Development Plan 2011-2014

Chapter Development Plan, 2011 – 2014: "Promoting a Culture of Planning"
A Message from President Alexander J. Graziani, AICP

As we begin 2011, the Chapter is embarking on a new Development Plan to help us make good strategic decisions. The PA Chapter of APA adopted the 2011-2014 Development Plan at the beginning of January 2011. You can see the Plan by clicking on this link.

The draft plan for 2011-2014 was initiated at a chapter leadership retreat January 28-29, 2010 in State College. In an attempt towards inclusivity, the Board of Directors invited additional chapter members to participate in the event, striving to have representation from all of our major member segments. In total we had 30 participants including staff from APA, student members, and planners from across the spectrum of our profession. After the retreat a committee was formed to finalize the draft plan. In September 2010, a survey was issued to the original retreat attendees to solicit their feedback on the strategic directions.

The Development Plan was shared with the membership via the website and the October/November 2010 issue of The Vantage Point. Following review of the comments and further discussion with the Board and retreat participants, the Plan was completed at the end of 2010.

With a new governor and a new legislature, it is imperative that we work together to strengthen the voice of planning and act in the best interest of our membership.

Thank you to all members for being a part of this process.
