Community Relations Intern
The successful candidate will work with various community groups and government agencies to establish new PhillyCarShare pods.

Duties include:

• Examine membership growth to identify neighborhoods where service expansion seems warranted, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Excel.
• Conduct site visits to identify potential new PhillyCarShare pods, considering location, visibility, safety, operational ease, and cost.
• Coordinate with marketing, member services, and fleet departments to identify desired and confirmed locations for new PhillyCarShare pods.
• Document with writing, photographs, and maps the proposed locations for new PhillyCarShare pods.
• Maintain relationships with community groups, neighborhood organizations, local property owners, parking operators, government agencies, and elected officials.
• Coordinate with these entities to broker new on-street and off-street parking for PhillyCarShare vehicles. Solicit letters of support as needed.
• Work well on the PhillyCarShare team, being flexible in duties.

Qualifications:

• City Planning Degree or Coursework preferred.
• Experience with GIS required.
• Ability to interact professionally with community leaders and government officials.
• Must have possessed a drivers license for at least two years, have a clean driving record, and be at least 21 years of age.

Hours: 15-20 hours/week
Compensation: $16/hr
Dates: June-December 2008-04-23
