Puko wins Governor’s Award
The Governor’s Center for Local Government Services recently honored local government officials by presenting Governor’s Awards for Local Government Excellence. Denny Puko, Executive Director of the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission, was presented with The Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence by DCED Secretary Dennis Yablonsky.
The following information about Denny was shared with the audience: “Dennis G. Puko has been Executive Director of the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission since 1993. MCRPC is a uniquely organized joint municipal-county planning commission which, under Mr. Puko, has been recognized for its cooperative, community-based and partnership-oriented planning programs. In addition to his work with MCRPC and service with a number of local community organizations, Mr. Puko is an active member of the American and Pennsylvania Chapter of APAs and serves on the Northwest Section Council and other committees for Pennsylvania Chapter of APA. Mr. Puko is a frequent presenter at workshops and conferences around the state, and also serves as a peer consultant on planning issues for the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services. For his tireless efforts to promote good planning in his community, county and state, the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence is presented to Dennis G. Puko.”
Denny’s father, son and daughter joined him in Harrisburg for the presentation ceremonies.
